Evergreen Caregiver Support (ECS) is a Washington State–based organization that provides trauma-informed training, consulting, and policy development to caregivers, schools, agencies, and community organizations nationwide.

We focus on strengthening systems of care through education, advocacy, and practical tools on topics such as internet safety, trauma, foster care, CSEC prevention, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and survivor support — along with community resources like our Fabulous Art Museum (F.A.M.), Library, and educational bookstore.

Who does Evergreen Caregiver Support serve?

We support foster parents, kinship caregivers, adoptive families, educators, social service professionals, and community organizations working with children and youth impacted by trauma — as well as government agencies nationwide.

Are your resources and services free?

Many of our online resources, community tools, and educational materials are free to access. Consulting, trainings, and custom presentations are paid services and may vary in cost depending on scope and organizational needs.

Do you only serve Washington State caregivers?

While we are based in Washington State and provide state-specific caregiver resources, our trainings, consulting services, and educational materials are available to organizations and professionals nationwide.

What is the Prudent Parenting Standard in foster care?

The Prudent Parenting Standard allows foster parents to make everyday decisions regarding a foster child's participation in extracurricular, enrichment, cultural, and social activities — such as sleepovers or sports. It encourages giving foster youth a normal childhood experience while exercising careful and sensible parental judgment.

Does Evergreen Caregiver Support offer professional Consulting & Policy Services?

Yes. Our Consulting & Policy Services provide trauma-informed consulting, policy development, program design, and staff training for schools, agencies, and community organizations. We help organizations strengthen services, improve policies, and build safer, more inclusive systems that better support youth, caregivers, and families.

What kind of trainings and presentations do you provide?

We offer engaging, trauma-informed trainings, workshops, and educational presentations on topics including:

  • Foster care and caregiver support

Can I request a custom training or presentation topic?

Do your trainings offer continuing education credits (CEs)?

Some trainings may qualify for continuing education credits depending on the hosting organization and its approval process. CE eligibility is listed when applicable for each training or presentation.

Does Evergreen Caregiver Support provide crisis intervention or mental health counseling?

No. Evergreen Caregiver Support does not provide direct crisis intervention, emergency services, or mental health counseling. Our mission is focused on strengthening systems of care through trauma-informed training, consulting, advocacy, and practical educational tools.

What is the Fabulous Art Museum (F.A.M.)?

The Fabulous Art Museum (F.A.M.) is a curated collection of LGBTQIA+ art, history, and cultural artifacts that preserves and celebrates queer stories often left out of traditional historical narratives. As part of Evergreen Caregiver Support, F.A.M. uses art and history to educate, inspire, and support foster, adoptive, and kinship families — promoting inclusion, healing, and understanding.

What is the Evergreen Caregiver Support Library?

The Evergreen Caregiver Support Library is a curated reference collection of books, research, and educational resources on trauma-informed care, foster care, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, mental health, and child safety. It provides caregivers and professionals with trusted information to better support children and families. Materials are for reference only and cannot be checked out.

Is the F.A.M. and Library a physical location I can visit, or is it entirely virtual?

Both are physical collections. The Fabulous Art Museum (F.A.M.) is a curated physical collection of art and history, and the Library is a physical reference collection. While materials are not available for checkout, both are accessible through our website and select in-person events.

We also bring these collections to the community through traveling exhibits. To host an exhibit at your school, agency, or organization, contact us to inquire about booking.

What is the Evergreen Caregiver Support Bookstore?

Our Bookstore offers interactive books that help children, tweens, families, caregivers, and educators build essential internet safety skills through engaging stories, activities, and guided discussions. Designed for homes, classrooms, libraries, and youth programs, these resources make it easy to start meaningful conversations about staying safe online.

Do you offer free downloadable resources?

How can I support or get involved with Evergreen Caregiver Support?

We welcome your support! Please note that Evergreen Caregiver Support is a registered LLC, not a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. While financial contributions are not tax-deductible, they directly fund free caregiver resources, community tools, and educational materials.
